In 2000 grain storage silos were installed to store maize and Soya for feed production. This strategy was done to mitigate the seasonal fluctuations which occur during harvest and dry seasons and also to maximise the cost cutting by buying when the prices are still low. It helps us to produce our own poultry feeds at a low cost.
The Silos storage capacity is 4,000 metric tonnes which can handle up to 12,000 tones a year
In 2001 we installed extruders to make Soya blend known as Unimix. They have an operating capacity of 20 metric tonnes per day.
