Storage silos
The company has grain storage silos with a capacity of 4000 metric tonnes. It stores grain for feeds and Corn Soya for fortified food. It has a grain cleaning facility and a continous drier able to dry up to 300 metric tonnes in 24 hours. Expansion was also planned for with another extra silo of 1200 metric tonnes. This storage facility enables the company to benefit from the commodity prices which are usually low at the time of harvest. The company purchases as much as can be stored because these prices are higher during the off season
The installed storage capacity was determined based on the needs that may arise in the future even taking into consideration expansion prospects.
Manufacture of fortified food
In 2001 extruders to make Soya blend were installed with an operating capacity of 20 metric tonnes per day.Two years later the capacity went up to 40 metric tonnes per day of Unimix (Corn Soya Blend) fortified with vitamins and minerals mainly for the World Food Programme in their relief work for the Internally Dispalced People and schools. Because of the high quality of the product, other NGO's such as Action Against Hunger and International Red Cross among others have made orders for it
